Dynamical transitions in aperiodically kicked tight-binding models

چکیده
If a localized quantum state in tight-binding model with structural aperiodicity is subject to noisy evolution, then it generally expected result diffusion and delocalization. In this work, shown that the phase of kicked Aubry-Andr\'e-Harper (AAH) robust effects for long times, provided some kick delivered once every time period. However, if strong perturbations are applied by randomly missing kicks, sharp dynamical transition from ballistic growth at initial times diffusive longer observed. Such transitions seen even translationally invariant models. These related existence flat bands, using 2-band we obtain analytical support these observations. The evolution has mechanism similar random walk. scale which takes place characteristics noise. Remarkably, wavepacket scales noise parameters. Further, sequence modulated 'coin toss', argued correlations crucial observed transitions.

Dynamical instability in kicked Bose-Einstein condensates
Bose-Einstein condensates subject to short pulses “kicks” from standing waves of light represent a nonlinear analog of the well-known chaos paradigm, the quantum kicked rotor. Previous studies of the onset of dynamical instability i.e., exponential proliferation of noncondensate particles suggested that the transition to instability might be associated with a transition to chaos. Here we conclu...
متن کاملPressure Induced Transitions in Calcium: a Tight-binding Approach
A tight-binding (TB) hamiltonian for calcium is built with a high precision parametrization technique based on density functional calculations of the energy bands and the total energy at various lattice volumes. The new set of TB parameters is appropriate to study phenomena under pressures as high as 20 GPa. Speci®cally, both the metal to nonmetal transition at 4 GPa and the structural transiti...
متن کاملTight Binding Models in Cold Atoms Physics ∗
Cold atomic gases placed in optical lattice potentials offer a unique tool to study simple tight binding models. Both the standard cases known from the condensed matter theory as well as novel situations may be addressed. Cold atoms setting allows for a precise control of parameters of the systems discussed, stimulating new questions and problems. The attempts to treat disorder in a controlled ...
متن کاملDiscrete Kinetic Models for Dynamical Phase Transitions
In this paper, we shall describe discrete kinetic models, which serve as a novel and systematical way to regularize a mixed-type system describing the dynamical phase transitions. In the limit of zero mean free path, it is expected to provide abundant reasonable kinetic relations and nucleation criteria for constructing Riemann solvers. Some particular models have been investigated theoreticall...
متن کاملQuantum Chaos and Spectral Transitions in the Kicked Harper Model
In contrast to bounded systems, quantum chaos in extended systems may be associated with fractal spectra, metal-insulator transitions due to avoided band crossings, and spreading wave packets. In this lecture we point out the role of avoided band crossings for spectral transitions in the example of the kicked Harper model. We explain the coexistence of localized and extended eigenfunctions oo t...
